Laura's Loft December Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge LLC1

Here are some of my creations I made using the Tic-Tac Toe Challenge Board.

I started this card by stamping Newton's Nook Fox Hollow images in Memento tuxedo Black Ink on Neenah Solar White 110lb card stock. I colored my images with Copics and die cut them out. I used a piece of Bo Bunny altitude paper for my background and stamped snow flakes in Versa Mark ink then embossed them with WOW sparkling snow EP. I did the same for my sentiment but used WOW Ultra Bright White SF. The snow on the trees was done using a white Signo Gel Pen. The moon was punched from a piece of SU Vellum. I made a stencil to protect the rest of my card and used Texture paste and Silver Ferra to make my snow. I took my finish piece and mounted it on a piece of MFT Gravel Gray which I die cut with MFT Blueprint 13 and I did the same for the Mft Pure Plum piece using MFT Blueprint 25. Both the Gravel Gray piece and the card front are mounted on fun foam. The last thing I did was place my adorable foxes.

I wanted to use Embossing powder to create a resist effect. I started by stamping the images fro CAS-ual Fridays Snowflake Splendor in Versa Mark on watercolor paper then applied WOW clear embossing powder and heat set it. I then used Tim Holtz Distress ink to water color in Lucky Clover, Tumbled Glass, and Shaded Lilac. I spritzed it with Tim Holtz Brushed Pewter Distress Spray. I colored some water color paper in the same colors and cut snowflakes out using MFT's Let it Snowflake die-namic. To finish I mounted it on a piece of MFT Brushed Silver card stock.

I started this card like the one above, Stamping the images from Impression Obsession Vintage Ornaments in Versa Mark then heat embossing with WOW clear gloss embossing powder

.I wet the ornaments with water and water colored them with Dr PH Martins Hydrus watercolors. I spritzed my background with Tim Holtz Brush Pewter Distress spray. My sentiment is cut out of black card stock using MFT's Christmas Greetings Die-namic. I added a strip of MFT Brushed Silver card stock and mounted it on MFT Cornflower Blue card stock.

I got on a roll having so much fun with this challenge but this is the last one. I started with a piece of watercolor paper and TCW's Aspen Tree stencil and dabbed my Versa Mark over it, then heat embossed WOW clear embossing powder. I colored the trees with DR PH Martin Hydrus watercolors. I stamped the images from Avery Elle North Pole in MFT Black on Neenah Solar White 80lb card stock and colored with Copics. The Cardinal is from MFT Seasons Tweetings.

I added Ranger Texture Paste to the bottom of my trees for snow. Then I adhered my images and sequins from the Design Creative Bling O'Tannenbaum mix.I finish it off by adding red and white chevron washi tape to the edge of a white card base and mounted my finished front.

Beautiful Intricate Ornaments (Farewell Top Dog Dies)

It is so sad to see a company close their online store. Top Dog Dies has shut down. They had some wonderful Die sets. I wish I had stumbled across them sooner. I was lucky enough to scoop up a few one of which I used to make the following card.

 I pulled out a piece of water color paper and some MFT inks ( Hot Fudge, Jellybean Green, and Olive) and painted some pine boughs with my aqua brush. I wanted to do something a little different so I took the scalloped die and cut a stencil using the plastic piece from a pack of bacon and ran them trough the Big Kick. I then cut the rest of my pieces from the various card stock. Taking the stencil I made I laid it on the blue ornament an colored the cut outs with an embossing pen and heat embossed it with WOW Gold Rich EP. I finished this one up by aligning the piece of vellum over the embossing and adding the top of the ornament. For the other ornament I used the same stencil but put it on top of the gold piece that is shaped like a label and dry embossed some detail in it. I adhered this piece along with the top of the ornament. both were popped up on fun foam. I wanted them to look like they were hanging from the branches. I used some DMC floss poked a hole on each side of the branch and lace it through then tied a bow. The two ends I glued behind the ornament so it looked like a loop. The last thing I did was cut out joy from MFT Shiney Gold card stock using Reverse Confetti's Winter Words die and assembled my card..

I've been having so much fun playing with the heat embossing resist and Tim Holtz Distress inks. On a piece of water color paper I stamped my image with Versa Mark from 3 MFT sets (Sophisticated Snowflakes, Snowflake Flurry, and Snowflake Splendor) then heat embossed them with WOW Opaque Bright white super detail embossing powder.

 Now for the fun, I wet the paper then started dropping drops from the refill bottle of Shaded Lilac, Lucky Clover, and Peacock Feathers. If they didn't spread enough on their own I gave them a little help with a aqua brush. I added some Tim Holtz Brushed Pewter Distress spray which I'm really hung up on lately. While this dried I cut snowflakes out of MFT Brushed Silver card stock using Cas-ual Fridays Snowflakes from the Catherine Pooler Holiday Magic Stamp Of Approval box, these snowflakes are awesome. Also from this box I used Neat and Tangled's Happy Holiday die to cut a piece of black card stock. I assembled my card front and mounted it on Bazzill Fairytale card stock.

I'm in love with Catherine Pooler's Holiday Magic, if you can't tell! You can do so much with it and I can't wait till the new one comes out in Jan.  

I used Neat and Tangled's Bright Baubles and did a similar technique as the above card except I used

Wow Gold Rich embossing powder, Silver embossing powder and Ranger Liquid Platinum. I then wet my water color paper in the shape of a Christmas tree and dropped SU Gumball Green on to the wet part trying to avoid the inside of the ornaments. Then I colored the ornaments in with MFT Cranberry Cocktail ink. I mounted the card front to MFT brushed gold then put them on MFT Wild Cherry card stock. To wrap it up I chose some sequins from Design Creative Bling O' Tannenbaum sequin mix to scatter about.   

Some time back I had seen these elves made with pine cones and thought they were so adorable I had to give it a shot. So off to Jo-ann's I went and purchased some felt and 1" wooden beads.Once back home I went about outside collecting small pine cones that were 3 - 4" tall. I then made a pattern for the hat. For the gloves I used the mitten die from MFT Warm and Fuzzy and for the feet I used a heart from MFT Staggered Heart Border cutting 2 for each elf. The scarf was easy, I just cut a strip of felt about 3/8 to 1/2" wide and about 8 1/2" long.  After gathering and cutting all my supplies I began assembling my elves using a hot glue gun. I ran a narrow bead of glue down the straight edge of the hat and brought the matching side around to meet it, then pressed them together. Next I glued the hat to the Wooden Bead and mounted it to the pine cone. I then tied the scarf on and trimmed it to fit then cut the tassels in the ends. I glued the mittens on each side. for the feet i glued two hearts matched up on top of each other then attached then to the bottom of the pine cone with the rounded parts sticking out the front. All that was left now is to draw the face and hair, if you want hair, then glue the mini bell ( purchased at amuse studio) on the end of the hat.

MFT Sketch Challenge 258

I haven't participated in an MFT sketch challenge in the last few months and I really missed it. It's been a very busy time between a death , work, surgery that I'm recuperating from and the general extra things that are thrown in there I just haven't had time. So with the fact that I'm recuperating I'm trying my best to be able to create cards and had some time to participate in the latest challenge.

On with my card! Prior to my surgery I had colored some images not knowing if I would be able to color afterwards for a while. One of the sets that I colored was MFT Santa's elves by Birdie Brown. I had also recently purchased some Bazzill Basic Paper called Holiday Style Classic Christmas and decided that I wanted to use the striped paper in that selection. I didn't have the Die-namic that cuts the stitch rectangle with the one rounded corner. So my solution was to use the stitch rectangle from Blueprints 25 and after cutting that laying the rounded corner rectangle from Blueprints 26 over top of it and only cutting the one corner. Next I used my pinked edge circle and cut a piece of Wild Cherry MFT cardstock. The top layer was a piece of Gumdrop Green MFT cardstock cut using the MFT stitched Circle frame. As I looked at this I decided instead of cutting a rectangle to go below these pieces I wanted to make a rectangular shaker card area so I used the rounded rectangle from blueprints 6 and cut the striped basil paper and I also cut two pieces of fun foam to create my shaker area. Then I got a piece of acetate that was a little larger than the opening and stamped my sentiment and Versa Mark then heat embossed it in black detail embossing powder by Stamp N Stuff. I had a hard time deciding what I wanted to back my shaker with and ended up going with a piece of MFT Blue Raspberry which picks up the blue stripe in the paper. I put my shaker together and used Design Creative Bling's sequin mix called O'Tannenbaum. Which is available at Laura's Loft!

 After assembling my shaker high attached all my elements to the front and added some glossy accents to the ornaments and the bells on the elves hats. My finish card front was mounted to a piece of Neenah solar white 110 lbs card stock as my base.

                        

I had just created my own stamp, which I tried out on this card, to stamp the back of my cards with using my Silhouette Mint and I really like how it works you can create what you want to personalize your stamp and it's so easy.
