CAS-ual Fridays Stamps  to start at the beginning. That way you won't miss a thing!

Calling All Sistahs!
1 in 8 women in the U.S. will develop invasive breast cancer in her lifetime.

On August 17th, 2015  an Awesome friend of ours became 1 in 8

Calling All Sistahs was started by Michele Gross, owner of CAS-ual Fridays Stamps, shortly after she was diagnosed with breast cancer. It is her hope to create awareness for breast cancer beyond just the month of October by reminding you to do your self breast exams on the 17th of each month, and encouraging us all to remind all the great women in our lives to do the same. You can read more about her story HERE.
The Calling All Sistahs Collection was created by Michele with the specific intent of donating 50% of her profits from this collection to Breast Cancer Research and Awareness programs in honor of all who have been affected by breast cancer.
We at Laura's Loft are thrilled to be one of the first stores in the country to offer this special collection of stamps and dies. It's important to us to be able to remind all of our sistahs to check yourself and we are proud to continue Michele's effort by donating 50% of our own profits from this collection to breast cancer research right here in VA.
Join us here on the blog on the 17th of each month for CAS-ual Fridays projects dedicated to the fight against Breast Cancer and in support of our sistahs suffering through it along with a personal reminder to get yourself checked.

***This is your reminder to do your breast self-exam!***
and remind your sistahs too!
If you're not exactly sure how to do a self exam, you can click here to get the information you need, and then follow up with your doctor at your next appointment.

CAS-ual Fridays is giving away three $25 gift certificates and Laura's Loft is giving away two $25 gift cards which will randomly be draw from the comments so be sure to go to each hop stop to leave lots of love!

I was thrilled to be in on this collaboration with CAS-ual Fridays and help bring awareness to self checks for early detection of breast cancer.

What an awesome thing Michele is doing every month!

Please forgive me but this is going to be brief. As I write this I have the flu.
I started with Neenah Solar White 110lb card stock and stamped my Hope Ribbon in SSS Hollyhock. I stamped the word Hope in SSS Intense Black. Then I masked it off and stamped the sentiments in SSS Slate, Smoke and Intense Black. I used MFT's Blueprints to die cut my layering pieces and assembled my card.

I hope I was able to inspire you!
Be sure to leave me a comment.
I love to hear from you!

Details for the GIVEAWAY found at the bottom of the post!

I started with a piece of Neenah Solar White card stock and stamped the images and sentiment from Lawn Fawn Mom + Me stamp set. I colored them with my Copics and made a glow around them with Copics. I added some hearts, sequins from Design Creative Bling Hopes Desire sequin mix and some string. I finished it off  by die cutting my base, which is from Lawn Fawn Let's Polka Mon Ami and my card front.

I stamped my images and sentiment from Stampingbella Tiny Townie Heidi Needs A Hug on Neenah and colored them with Copics. Using MFT Die-namics Blueprints I cut my tab and flower. I also used them to cut my card front and base. I glued my flower together then stitched a button in the middle.

I could not get the video to load but if you click here you can watch it!

From the time I saw the Lawn Fawn Loads of Fun stamp set I had this card in mind. I wanted the dryer to spin around. So I started off creating my background with Tim Holtz Distress Crayons and the Mini Stencil set 1. Then I stamped out the images and colored them with Copics. I cut them out on my Scan N Cut 2. Next is the fun part, using two circle dies one slightly larger than the other I cut a piece of white card stock as the outside ring of the dryer. Using the larger die I cut another piece of white card stock and a piece of acetate. I poked a tiny hole in the center of the white circle and the centwer of the door on the dryer. I put a tiny brad through the hole in the circle, attached a piece of bakers twine, put the brad through a Stampin Up dimensional which still had the protective cover on the side towards the dryer and last through the dryer door. I forgot to mention I also cut a piece of white fun foam using the two circle dies. I glued the fun foam down then the acetate and the outside circle. I used MFT Blueprints and cut my front and base ( Lawn Fawn Beachside) then assembled my card.

The images for this card are from Stampingbella Rachel Loves The Rain. They are colored with copics. The card front and base ( Lawn Fawn Beachside) are cut using MFT Die-namics. I added sequins from Design Creative Bling Jewel Box mix and some glossy Accents.

I hope you enjoy these as much as I did creating them. Next on our line up is Jasmine. You won't want to miss what she has created so click the next button and it will take you there.

Laura is having a GIVEAWAY and the winner gets this awesome prize!!

The details of Laura's GIVEAWAY are at the bottom of my blog.

March is National Craft Month in honor of this LAURA'S LOFT IS GIVING 15% OFF SITE WIDE 3/3 THRU 4/3!!!
Let's not forget  if you spend $75 get $10 off with coupon code $10off75 on Laura's Loft!
Now fun the inspirational fun stuff!
This card I started with a piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb card stock. I stamped images from Lawn Fawn Sunny Skys stamp set in Brutus/Monroe Raven Detail Ink . I used Moletow masking pen to mask my images. I colored them with copics.

Once finished i sed a n exacto knife to carefully cut out the portion on the cloud and kite the would hang outside the MFT Blueprint Dianamic 13 stitched rectangle then ran it through my Cuttle bug. I chose the striped background paper because it popped the colors so well.

I love hot air balloons and thought this turned out wonderfully! SSS makes the hot air balloon set which I stamped with Brutus/Monroe Raven Detail Ink (my new favorite it seems to be excellent with all kinds of techniques). My sentiment from MFT Blue Skies Ahead is stamped in the same ink. The pine trees are stamped using Altenew  mini cubes and the rest of the images were colored with watercolor pencils and blended with a wet brush. i cut my card front out with MFT Die-namics Blueprint 13 and mounted it on a piece of MFT Cornflower Blue card stock.

I used my Zig Real Brush Pens on this card. I started by stamping my images and sentiment (which are from Impression Obsession Riding Pretty)with Brutus/ Monroe Detail Ink. I free handed the background. Everything was colored with the Zig pens and then blended with water

This is my last card and most interesting to me. The images are from Hero Arts Layered Bird and stamped in Altenew Inks except the sentiment which is Brutus /Monroe detail ink. I had finished most of the card and wanted to add some color to the bird. Since I was away from home at the time I didn't have my normal supplies so I took a mini ink cube and dabbed the color on. I didn't realize it was putting tiny lines coming off the bird that looked like sun rays. At first I was upset but the more I looked at it the more I thought it was cool so I put more lines coming off the bird, flowers and leaves. I hope you like this technique born from an oops.

I hope you enjoy these as much as I did creating them. Next on our line up is Jasmine. You won't want to miss what she has created so click the next button and it will take you there.
