Laura's Loft Sequin mixes

From the moment I saw the Lovely Links Fri-Dies I wanted to make a St. Patrick's Day card with it. I know it is intended as a hearts and love theme but I saw four leaf clovers. To start this card out I chose several shades of green card stock and cut them with the dies. Then I arranged the dies on a 3 3/4 x 5 1/4 piece of white card stock and ran it through my Big Kick. I took another piece cut the same size and put a piece of Stick It on it then attached the piece of die cut white card stock lining it up so it was even. I inlaid the white link pieces and then started putting the Hearts and circles in, in various shaded of green. After I finished I ran the finished piece through my Big Kick to make sure the were in good. I used a Sentiment from CAS-UAL Fridays Clover, stamped it in Versa Mark on Vellum and heat embossed it in WOW Rich Gold. I couldn't really decide where I want it and after moving it around several times I cut it apart and adhered it between the links. I also used the same embossing powder to add the Clover on the middle circle. I added some sequins from Design Creative Bling Puttin On The Ritz mix. The last couple of things I did was Mont it on a piece of MFT Gold Shine card stock and then a piece of MFT Dill Pickle card stock.

I had this idea in my head of creating an Easter card that the egg was created by stamping floural images within an egg shape stencil. So I made me a stencil on my ScanNCut using the

plastic that Gwaltney bacon sits on in it's package. I sprayed it with adhesive and lined it up in the center of my white card base. I used Altenew's Vintage Flowers and Painted Butterflies and stamped my images using Altenew inks. after I finished this part I removed my stencil and covered my egg with the negative and began with the lightest color Altenew Blue and worked my way up to the darkest with a blending dobber blending the colors all around the edge of the egg getting lighter as i went outward. When this was done I re positioned my original stencil and used Buttercream around the edges. I placed the negative back down with the stencil and slightly offset it to blend in a shadow. I wrapped up this card by drawing my flourishes, sentiment and dash lines around the egg in white Signo Gel Pen then shadowed them with a black marker.

I first colored the Bunnies and flowers then cut them out on my ScanNCut 2. I used Mementoe's Duel Marker Pen to finish of the edges and make them standout. I used the Balloon edge from MFT Blueprints 26 to cut my hill. I trimmed the balloon tail off. I used MFT Blueprint 20 Scallop and Stitched Frame to cut the yellow frame. For the background I blended TH Tumbled Glass to make a sky then stamped the sentiment from Newtons Nook Simply Seasonal in different distress inks. I used the die from Hero Arts Happy Stamp and Cut to cut the word happy. To assemble this card I first put my frame on a piece of acetate. Then began gluing down the rest of my scene. When I was done I flipped it over and added my foam tape. I used Design Creative Bling Raspberry Crush Sequin mix. The last thing I did to finish it up was put the back on and pressed firmly around the edges.

I used MFT Blueprint 3 & 20 plus MFT's Peek a Boo Window to cut my pieces. When I layed them out I decided the solid light green needed breaking up so I laid a stencil over it and sponged some green ink over it. I took a piece of Neenah Solar White card stock and stamped the shamrock from Newtons Nook Simply Seasonal in various green inks. I used Hero Arts Happy Stamp And Cut Happy Die and cut a piece of black card stock. St. Patrick's Day is stamped in Versa Fine ( not sure why but where it was stamped over the ink from stenciling it bleed some and the part not over the ink is fine). I adhered a piece of acetate on the backside of the window then made my shaker out of foam tape. I added some Design Creative Bling Just My Luck sequin mix to the shaker then put the back with the clover stamped on it down and pressed all over to seal it. I finished it up my adding sequins and gold cord.

MFT Sketch Challenge 258

I haven't participated in an MFT sketch challenge in the last few months and I really missed it. It's been a very busy time between a death , work, surgery that I'm recuperating from and the general extra things that are thrown in there I just haven't had time. So with the fact that I'm recuperating I'm trying my best to be able to create cards and had some time to participate in the latest challenge.

On with my card! Prior to my surgery I had colored some images not knowing if I would be able to color afterwards for a while. One of the sets that I colored was MFT Santa's elves by Birdie Brown. I had also recently purchased some Bazzill Basic Paper called Holiday Style Classic Christmas and decided that I wanted to use the striped paper in that selection. I didn't have the Die-namic that cuts the stitch rectangle with the one rounded corner. So my solution was to use the stitch rectangle from Blueprints 25 and after cutting that laying the rounded corner rectangle from Blueprints 26 over top of it and only cutting the one corner. Next I used my pinked edge circle and cut a piece of Wild Cherry MFT cardstock. The top layer was a piece of Gumdrop Green MFT cardstock cut using the MFT stitched Circle frame. As I looked at this I decided instead of cutting a rectangle to go below these pieces I wanted to make a rectangular shaker card area so I used the rounded rectangle from blueprints 6 and cut the striped basil paper and I also cut two pieces of fun foam to create my shaker area. Then I got a piece of acetate that was a little larger than the opening and stamped my sentiment and Versa Mark then heat embossed it in black detail embossing powder by Stamp N Stuff. I had a hard time deciding what I wanted to back my shaker with and ended up going with a piece of MFT Blue Raspberry which picks up the blue stripe in the paper. I put my shaker together and used Design Creative Bling's sequin mix called O'Tannenbaum. Which is available at Laura's Loft!

 After assembling my shaker high attached all my elements to the front and added some glossy accents to the ornaments and the bells on the elves hats. My finish card front was mounted to a piece of Neenah solar white 110 lbs card stock as my base.

                        

I had just created my own stamp, which I tried out on this card, to stamp the back of my cards with using my Silhouette Mint and I really like how it works you can create what you want to personalize your stamp and it's so easy.

Thankful Fall Leaves

Starting to get in the fall mood so I thought I would make a card that had floating in my head. To start off I took a piece of watercolor paper and taped it down using some painters tape that I previously used when spraying dylusions ink. This tape had residue left on it from the teal and magenta ink. When I misted the paper with water a very faint blue seeped on to the paper and I rubbed it in. Using MFT'S Thankful Leaves stamp set and MFT's dye ink colors Cranberry Cocktail, Fuse Green, and Orange Fizz I stamped the leaves leave the middle open to stamp the word stamp in black. The veins for the leaves were stamped in versa mark and embossed with gold embossing powder. Thankful for you sentiment was also stamped in versa mark and golf embossed on a strip of vellum. I used blueprints 24 and 25 and cut a cranberry cocktail cardstock frame. At first I didn't have anything behind the vellum but decided to put a piece of fuse green cardstock behind it.
To assemble the card I glued the piece of fuse green to the base then added the vellum piece wrapping the edges around the base to attatchment it. To finish it I glued the cranberry cocktail frame to the base. Thanks for stopping in. I hope you enjoyed the card.

Ellen Hutson Mondo Poinsettia and distress ink watercoloring

 I have fallen in love with Ellen Hutsons Mondo Poinsettia set. I took a piece of Cannon cold press water color paper and cut it into quarters the taped it down to my work surface leaving a 4x5.25 work area.

                                                                                                                    I then chose antique linen, evergreen bough, pine needles, peeled paint, and forest moss from the Tim Holtz distress inks to stamp and watercolor my images. I used peeled paint first and dabbed it in the center of the flower then carefully added antique linen to the petals and stamped it on the watercolor paper. I did the same thing twice more but wiped away the ink that would overlap my previous image from the stamp before stamping it. Since the stamps are clear you just hold it above where you want it and wipe off a little at a time till you see it won't overlap what you already have. The next step is using the same colors to watercolor your images. I pressed my stamp pad on an acrylic block and add a couple drops of water from my aqua brush. Picking up some of the color I painted where I wanted my shading first then went back an spread the color to the rest of the petals so they would be lighter.i did add just a tad of forest moss to the peeled paint to get my shading color. It's important to let areas that touch dry before painting next to them. After my flowers dried I painted the background using evergreen bough and a little pine needles. I cut my gold frame using blueprints 25 then blueprints 13 frame dies out of  MFT gold shine card stock. Joy was cut from the same paper using Lawn Fawns Scripty Joy. Last but not least I added Little Things from Lucy's cards Caribbean Dream sequins.

MFT Sketch Challenge 241

For this sketch challenge I first chose to use MFTs' Upsy Daisey Die-namic. From there I chose my colors ( lemon chiffon, limeade, coral crush, and persimmon) and cut my flowers using the various colors. I used the dye inks in these colors and MFTs' stamp set Desert Bouquet to create my background on a piece of white card stock. Blueprints 13 and a spellbinders circle was used to cut the finished piece. i then cut a piece of limeade using MFTs' Stitched Circle Frame Stax to frame my shaker circle. My shaker was made using We R Memory Keepers Fuse Tool which I ran around the circle frame die for a pattern. After adhering my flowers in place I stamped my sentiment, which came from MFTs' Encouraging words, in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. The background piece is popped up with fun foam. Apiece of Lemon Chiffon was used to back the shaker window and my base was Persimmon. oh and one last detail I added dots of sakura silver shimmer jelli roll pen to the center of the flowers. Thank you so much for dropping by hope you enjoyed the card as much as I did making it.

MFT Sketch Challenge 240

This sketch challenge was perfect since I had plenty of kitty cats cut out from where I had done a video explaining how to cut stamped images with the silhouette cameo without pix scan. When I first looked at the sketch image the first thing I saw was a window and wouldn't one of those cats look so cute sitting on it. Started off coloring my cat the following Copics colors G 14, YG 06, G 05, W 7 W 3 and C 1. I glued the front and back of the cat together and set it aside . I chose pattern paper from Me and My Big Ideas boy pack. Lining the MFT window die up in the center of my  pattern paper along with the front of my card base  and I ran it through my big kick. Choosing Bazzill Atlantis card stock I cut 2 window fames and sills. I also cut a piece of acetate for the window. I use liquid glue and put my window together. After putting the cat in the window I noticed it needed a little something so I drew a potted plant that was peeking into the window and colored it with my Copics. I stamped my sentiment on a piece of white cardstock that I cut using blueprint 16 and I adhered two yellow enamel dots. On the inside of my card I stamped the inside with I'm grumpy when you're not here.

MFT Sketch Challenge 237

I love this sketch. I started with the plaid paper it is from DCWV baby boy stack. I thought the colors were awsome. I stamped some images from  mft things with wings  on watercolor paper using MFT's lost lagoon, orange zest , and green room dye inks to watercolor my images. The orange base card stock is from Stampin Up. I used blueprints 20 to cut out a piece of vellum that I colored with Copics to make my fish tail banner which I embossed with Ranger liquid platinum embossing powder. The button die is from blueprints 14. I hope you like the way this turned out as much as I do. Thanks for stopping by.

MFT Sketch Challenge 236

 Looking at the sketch I saw the perfect opportunity to make a shaker card and use my circle sayings from SSS. The elephant is from Wplus9 Unforgettable. The polka dot cardstock was cut using MFT Blueprints 14 and the fishtail banner was cut using blueprints 16 then cut in half and placed on either side of the circle and cut with the circle to match. The frame for the shaker window was cut using the peek a boo Circle window die and a circle from Spellbinders. I use the same setup and cut two pieces of fun foam to create the frame for my shaker window. I use the circle from Spellbinders to cut a piece of acetate and then stamped it and white stays on with Simon Says Stamp circle sayings. my background piece was a piece of hot pink burlap cardstock. the sentiment is from wish big by Ellen Hutson. MFT Sketch Challenge 235

Looking at this sketch the first thing that came to mind was a donut. So I pulled out my MFT Donuts and Sprinkles. First I created a donut with my SU 2 1/2" circle punch and 1 1/4" circle punch. Using my distress markers I designed it. I used my cross stitch circle stax and cut a piece of brown card stock to go behind the donut. The label and fish tail tag were cut using blueprints 13. I stamped my sentiment in mft chocolate fudge ink. Fun foam was used to pop up the donut, fishtail tag and label.

MFT Sketch Challenge 234 and Color Challenge 24

What beautiful colors for this challenge blue rasberry, lemon chiffon, persimmon, and sweet tooth. Using a die from blueprints 15 I cut the stripes from persimmon and lemon chiffon. The frame is from the stitched rectangle stax and is cut out of blue rasberry and the background is sweet tooth cut using blueprints 24 Looking at the sketch I thought MFTs lollipop additions birthday would be perfect so I stamped the first layer in blue rasberry then stamped the sentiments in versafine black .  I then punxhed then outvusing my SU 1 3/8 punch and popped them up on pop dots. Instead of a sentiment stamped on strip in the middle I choose to use Lawn Fawns birthday border die.  Thanks for droppin in. Come back soon

MFT Summer School lesson 3

From the moment I saw Mama Elephants Chance Of Rain I knew I had to stamp the umbrella upside down and put the two people in it as a boat. I had to use a little bit of masking and then colored them with copics. The waves were cut with Lawn Fawns stitches hills from SU soft sky and lost lagoon. I used the MFT Cloud Cover up the cut the clouds out. I used two different MFT Blueprint dies to make my background layers. Thanks for dropping in.

MFT Color Challenge 23

The colors for this challenge are wild wisteria, Lemon drop, razzle berry, and limelight. I started by die cutting limelight cardstock with MFT Tall Grass and the flowers from razzle berry, Lemon drop and wild wisteria. Thinking the girl with the dog from Birdie Browns You Have My Heart would look cute in the flowers, I colored her with copics and water colored her clothes with lemon drop and wild wisteria. Then I mounted them on a piece of Neenah White die cut using Blueprints 24. My sentiment is from MFT Totally Happy and stamped in razzle berry. I was trying to get more practice a using white space with this card. It was hard not putting sequins on it. Thanks for stopping in.

MFT Sketch Challenge 233

Today I got my happy mail from MFT and in it was my Let's get Nautical dies. I just love nautical and wanted to us them for my sketch challenge slash father's day card.
My cardstock is from DCWV Seaside Yacht. I used MFT Blueprints 13 to cut the background. Then I used MFT Blueprints 3 to cut the strips. The frame is Bazzill Admiral cardstock and is cut using the MFT Stitched Rectangle Stax. The helm is from MFT Let's Get Nautical and the sentiment is from Go Overboard.
